When a change is needed…

In September, when the weather becomes cooler and those knit jumpers are pulled out of the back of the wardrobe, I’m always looking for ways to make changes indoors. I’m not yet ready to hunker down into winter prep but I think about the bigger projects I’ve wanted to do and… I only have so much time! Running a small business and managing a family is challenging but thousands and millions of people do it every day! So instead I’m taking a different approach this year and instead of setting myself impossible standards, I have a short list for getting Autumn-ready:

  1. Bring out soft fleece or wool blankets for the sofa-lovely for the cool evenings. In my case, I will probably wash the bedraggled ones the kids were using for forts…

  2. Pull out some cheap Dunnes Stores pillar or dinner candles. I love the dinner candles because I can use my charity-shop candlesticks and they look so elegant.

  3. Gather bunches of dried leaves for the mantlepiece along with twigs and other bits from the garden.

Remember, a beautiful home can be made from what is around you. Beauty is not shop-bought. Xx Liz
